FarmSay this Nov: Groundwork
Welcome to the November ’25 round-up.
Build Log:
These notes are my way of tracking what it takes to build FarmSay from idea to working agri-economy experiments.
Registered the farmsay.pro domain and, after testing options, chose Substack as the CMS. Connected the domain so visitors now land here—‘The FarmSay Chronicles.’
Focused on standardizing branding by shifting my personal Substack to FarmSay.
Created Instagram presence with @farmsay_pro; it will be a quiet launch pad for future stories and progress updates.
Outreach:
Revisited mushroom lab in Mysuru and registered for their next batch (missed their October call!). Met another aspiring rooftop farmer frustrated with official responses, who pointed me to AG Mushrooms Farm on the city outskirts; visited, but the owner was unavailable.
Heard back quickly from IIHR, Bengaluru, about mushroom training planned for Feb 2026; registrations open on Dec 8.
Emailed a few FPOs around Mysuru; as expected, nothing immediate, and no replies yet after two weeks.
Ordered a home hydroponics kit from PindFresh; delivery was smooth, assembly was straightforward, and seeds went in on Nov 29.
Tried to enroll for the November schedule at JSS KVK–Sutturu but couldn’t reach the right point of contact in time.
Discovered Keystone Foundation’s beekeeping program, with training scheduled for Dec 18–19.
Spoke with a handful of hydroponics practitioners found via The Hindu, LinkedIn, and Instagram; early phone conversations sounded promising, but follow-up has been slow or absent so far.
Read about the Nilgiris Earth Festival in 2024 and am looking forward to learning from their community engagement.
The real win this month was turning vague interest into concrete next steps and dates on the calendar. Plenty didn’t go as planned, which feels about right for month one.
